Concentric Direct LLC was founded by John Pudner to combine the speed of political campaigns with the quality required by corporations to provide a cost-effective way to win for clients in both arenas. After a short journalism career, John spent a decade running political campaigns in which he had to develop efficient grassroots organizations. Despite being drastically outspent and/or challenging long-term incumbents, he won more than 75% of his races in a decade. He then joined the corporate world, being promoted in three years to Director of Operations in which he oversaw 14 employees in Ohio, Connecticut and Virginia. He saw the potential to combine the best of both arenas to efficiently bring the grassroots process he had developed – utilizing a call center and proven on-the-ground political operatives who know specific communities – under tight corporate accountability to win public affairs efforts. During efforts on behalf of The Boeing Company, Microsoft and Bush 2000 he was able to build a strong national network of proven subcontractors, and then he was able to team up with Democratic operatives such as Bennet Ratcliff (Clinton/Gore 1992 and 1996) to offer a bipartisan solution. The result was Concentric Direct, which cut out the overhead to deliver what a client needs – like-minded residents to vote, show up at public hearings, call their elected officials or call local radio shows or write local newspapers. The victories have continued to build from zoning wins throughout the east, to referenda as big as the $4.5 million campaign in Alabama covered by Campaigns & Elections, to winning the State of Wyoming for Romney for President, or City Council races in Cleveland, Ohio, or a key open legislative race in Virginia. As the Concentric team has continued to grow with subcontractors and employers throughout the US, the firm can now help corporate and political clients win in any region in the Continental US. |
